Are your passwords on the naughty list?
Not all passwords are created equally. Some are strong, those with a minimum of 14 characters. While others are weak, those with less than 12 characters.
If passwords are what stands between a bad guy and access to online accounts, why would anyone want to use a weak password??
People are lazy. Wait, can I still say that? Maybe I should say that people take the path of least resistance.
Guess where else that path leads? To the Top Most Commonly Used Password list.
NordPass recently released their “Top 200 most common passwords of the year 2020” list.
Check it out the list to see if your password is listed. The list also tells you how long it would take to crack each password. Get the link at the bottom of this post.
Here are a few of my favorites from the list:
It amazes me that people are still using 12345, or similar variations, as a password. That one makes the list every year.
It appears that “michelle” is a popular name as it was #105 on the list.
My personal favorite is “letmein.” I am sure I am not the only one that has shouted “LET ME IN!!!” out of frustration when I can’t get in. Or maybe I am??!!
Oh, and how about the swear word passwords? Do you kiss your momma with that mouth? Looks like these people are getting coal this year for Christmas.
It’s fun to laugh at these passwords, unless you are using any of them. If so, stop what you are doing and change them immediately. That’s right. You heard me. Do it now! What are you waiting for?
Which one was your favorite? Tell me in the comments.
