Millions of Adobe users exposed

Last week Adobe announced they had suffered a data security breach potentially exposing the log in credentials and payment details of millions of it’s users but the hackers didn’t stop there.  They also stole top secret source code for an “undetermined number of software title , including [Adobe’s] ColdFusion Web application platform, and possibly its Acrobat family of products.”  It appears that Adobe knew of the breach in September but chose to keep it secret until it had concluded it’s investigation.

Should you be concerned if you an Adobe user?  YES!  In a statement released by Adobe last week “the attackers removed from our systems certain information relating to 2.9 million Adobe customers, including customer names, encrypted credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates, and other information relating to customer orders.”  Make sure you monitor your credit card transactions and report ALL discrepancies immediately.  Better yet, contact your credit card company and request a new credit card.  If you used a debit/credit card then you will also need to contact your bank.
